The Mighty Bulldog Marching Band has a long history of tradition that dates back to over 80 years ago.
Known as the Pride of the Southside and the Sound of the South, the marching band has earned hundreds of awards and recognitions throughout the State of Texas. The band has been featured at the Battle
of Flowers Band Festival twice in the past 5 years. It has also made consistent superior (1st Division) ratings at UIL earning them a spot at area every year they qualify for it.
This year the band embarks into their 2019 show titled "La Vida de los Muertos" The Life of the Dead, which fuses the music of famous Mexican artist Juan Gabriel with Mozart's requiem, telling a story of eternal love.
History in the making...
This season, for the first time in the school history, the bulldog band qualified into the UIL Area H marching finals. Th band came in 8th place, making SAISD history as the first band to make this accomplish in the current UIL format.
To be a part of the band is to be a part of a big family, where you will make countless memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.
